The foundation for implementation

5 Essential Components of GaMTSS

Five essential components of GaMTSS: Infrastructure supports Teaming, Evaluation, Multi-Level Prevention, and Data-Based Decision Making across Academics, Behavior, and Wellbeing.
Infrastructure

Districts provide the infrastructure that supports school success: assessment tools, problem-solving processes, professional development, coaching, policies, funding, and alignment with district improvement efforts.

Teaming

Structured collaboration and shared problem-solving drive GaMTSS. Integrated teams bring varied perspectives and professional strengths to align efforts and deliver tiered support that meets the needs of all students.

Multi-Level Prevention

Three tiers form a continuum of support, including high-quality core instruction and evidence-based interventions for academics, behavior, and wellbeing. Decision guidelines help educators act proactively to prevent poor outcomes and support student success.

Evaluation

Teams collect and analyze fidelity and outcome data, including screening and progress monitoring, to track implementation and student outcomes across academics, behavior, and wellbeing. Accessible data informs district and school improvement.

Data-Based Decision Making (DBDM)

Teams analyze academic, behavioral, and wellbeing data together to identify barriers and contributing factors. A structured problem-solving process at district and school levels reveals trends and guides targeted improvements aligned with district goals.
